The INMM Executive Committee (EC) seeks expressions of interest from Members of the Institute to serve as the Chair of the INMM Strategic Planning Committee (SPC).
The SPC Chair will lead ongoing strategic planning activities as requested by the EC and respond to initiatives to ensure that the organization is effectively meeting the needs of the professional nuclear materials management community. The Committee will assist the EC in performing both short- and long-term analysis of the Strategic Plan. The Chair will determine the structure of the Committee and recruit members representing the diversity of the Institute’s membership, committees and technical divisions, including representation from International Chapters, to serve on the Committee and assist the Chair.
The responsibilities of the Chair include:
Assist the EC in the development and maintenance of a Strategic Plan for the Institute, including working with the Institute’s management organization, Association Headquarters (AH), to implement the Plan.
Attend each EC meeting (three times per year) and provide written and oral Committee reports consistent with the deadlines established by INMM HQ. Upon invitation, attend monthly teleconferences to support strategic and other discussions.
Attend the Annual Meeting and chair the Annual SPC meeting.
Monitor current events that may impact the Institute’s mission and share pertinent information within the Committee, with the EC, and with the Technical Divisions and Chapters that will help to guide strategic discussions.
Represent the SPC at official Institute functions and Technical Division/Chapter meetings during the Annual Meeting as appropriate to report on Committee activities and initiatives, as well as to stimulate strategic discussions among the Institute membership.
Prepare a quarterly column for the JNMM to include strategic discussions designed to stimulate the membership’s perspectives on the future of the Institute and the nuclear materials management environment.
Assist in the documentation and archiving of information pertinent to the Committee’s work.
Engage INMM committees, as necessary, to solicit input for strategic planning process.
