As other sections of this edition of the Communicator discuss in more detail, this year’s INMM Annual Meeting, held July 12-16, 2009, in Tucson was a resounding success. The number of high quality presentations was phenomenal, and the meeting was four and a half days of the best and most up-to-date information regarding the management of nuclear materials. We expect the trend to continue, so mark your calendars for the next Annual Meeting scheduled for July 11-15, 2010, in Baltimore, Maryland. I hope that you are planning to attend. Since the last edition of the Communicator the Membership Committee has filled a vacancy, Mark Mount of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory has agreed to serve on the Membership Committee. Leading up to the Annual Meeting, the Committee reviewed an exceptional field of 25 applicants for INMM Senior Membership and provided recommendations to the INMM EC. Of the original 25 applications, the EC accepted 14 as new Senior Members. These new Senior Members were recognized during the annual INMM business meeting July 14, 2009, in Tucson Arizona:
In addition, the Membership Committee has been hard at work reviewing and approving applications for a number of student, regular, and sustaining member applicants. Since the last Communicator in March 2009, the Committee has recommended approval of 27 regular members and nine student members. As always, if you find the name of a colleague on the list below, be sure to welcome them and let them know of the ways that you find your INMM membership valuable. And, remember to keep your own contact information up to date in our online directory. Modifying the database to reflect your most recent contact information is easy and takes only a few minutes. Your changes with be reflected in the online directory automatically.
